Cancelled events at St Mary's, Finedon

As you'll have gathered, all church services have been stopped for the time being due to COVID-19 but hopefully the church will be open at times for quiet prayer.

Just confirming this means:

No choir practice on Fridays until further notice.

The performance of Stainer's Crucifixion on Palm Sunday has been cancelled.

The afternoon Good Friday Service of Readings, Music and Contemplation has been cancelled.

Easter Day Choral Evensong has been cancelled.

The Choral Scholars workshop on 28 March has been postponed.

The Plainchant Workshop on 25 April has been postponed.

 

As soon as we can restart our regular choir practices I will let you know.

In the meantime, I hope you all keep healthy!

14 February 2020Plainchant Workshop

Plainchant Workshop at St Mary's, Finedon on Saturday 25 April

Led by Dr Iain Simcock from Schola Gregoriana, this workshop will introduce us to a range of plainchant, concluding with music we have learnt in the workshop being sung as part of Compline.

We will start at 2pm, concluding with a service of Compline at 4.30pm (so ending by 5pm).

There is a suggested donation of £10 to help cover the costs of the workshop.

19 January 2020Come & Sing Allegri's Miserere

Come & Sing Allegri's Miserere and other pieces on Good Friday at St Mary's, Finedon

On Good Friday (Friday 10th April 2020), we will be holding a Service of Readings, Music and Contemplation at St Mary's, Finedon. Visiting singers are very welcome to join us for this.

Rehearsal begins at 12.30pm with the service at 2.00pm (lasting just over one hour).

Come & Sing Stainer's Crucifixion at St Mary's, Finedon

On Palm Sunday (Sunday 5th April 2020), we will be holding a Come & Sing Stainer's Crucifixion at St Mary's, Finedon. Visiting singers are very welcome to join us for this.

Rehearsal begins at 4.30pm with the 'performance' at 6.00pm (lasting about one hour).
