Music Outreach Programme
Church Children's Choir - this was set up to promote and encourage young children to sing in a church choir. It is useful grounding for them before joining the main choir. Several children have attained the White Level RSCM Voice for Life award, five have attained the light blue level and one dark blue. This choir rehearses in church on Friday evenings from 6.15 to 6.50pm. The Children's Choir sing in church on special occasions plus the first Sunday of most months.
Organ Scholarship - our Junior Organ Scholarship was set up to encourage young organists to take up the organ and gain experience of playing in services. Our current scholar, Michael Needle, plays hymns, service music or voluntaries about once a month.
Opening up the Organ - we try to make the organ accessible and open for visiting organists to play and practise. During July 2013, 14 different organists played the organ on different occasions. We often have young organists coming to occasional services to gain experience of playing and conducting in a service. In addition, following the restoration the organ has been used for recitals and in concerts. Since 2016 we have welcomed organists from the Oundle for Organists course to play the organ each July in their lessons and masterclasses.
Visiting Care Homes - our main choir visits a Nursing Home in Wellingborough on a Sunday afternoon about every 6 weeks to sing in a short service for them.
