Organ Lessons in Northamptonshire & Milton Keynes
We are keen to promote and encourage new and current organists. The Director of Music is an experienced organ teacher and currently teaches several organ students (children and adults) in various churches. Assistance in learning the organ can be offered in different ways depending on the student.
Organ Scholarship at St Mary the Virgin, Finedon
We offer an Organ Scholarship to school age pupils or students who have attained at least grade 3 standard piano or keyboard. This includes free organ lessons and guidance on playing in services in return for regular attendance at services and occasional or regular choir practices to support the Director of Music. Please contact us for further details if you are interested. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Regular (weekly or fortnightly) or occasional lessons can be arranged at Finedon. For details of costs please contact the Director of Music. It may be possible for lessons to take place in different churches in Northamptonshire or the Milton Keynes area. Adults or children may be interested in this.
Experience and guidance in playing for services
We are happy to support organists wishing to gain experience or needing support in their organ playing. With prior arrangement, organists are welcome to sit in the organ loft during services or to be given the chance to play for parts of services. Please contact the Director of Music if this may be of help. Email: email@example.com
There are several other organ teachers in Northamptonshire. If you are seeking any advice on the next step to help you progress, please contact the Director of Music. Similarly the Northampton & District Organists' Association is an excellent source for advice and many of their events will be of interest.
